Understanding the outcomes of ecological restoration in sensitive wetland regions

Description:
Measuring the benefits of wetlands can be difficult as they often complex landscapes, hard to navigate and include sensitive plants and wildlife that can be easily disturbed by humans. Remote sensing can help to address these challenges when monitoring the landscape, especially at the early stages of post restoration recovery. Remote sensing is being used in California’s Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta to understand post-restoration wetland dynamics and ecosystem services.
