‘The Cotton Church’ publication

Heritage Works Buildings Preservation Trust contracted Countryscape to produce a booklet on the history of St. Peter’s Church in Ancoats, Manchester: an historic Anglican church which dates back to the 1850s, when Ancoats was the centre of the city’s cotton industry. In 2006 the church was restored and now plays an important role as a community centre.

The 48 page booklet was intended as an engaging, durable and cost-effective learning resource, for distribution via local libraries and other community outlets. It was authored by historians from Manchester Metropolitan University, with whom Countryscape worked closely in designing and illustrating the publication. The finished booklet was produced using recycled stock and biodegradable, vegetable oil-based inks.
