Boltby Scar Archaeological Dig - Volunteer Notebook

Countryscape designed a ‘field notebook’ for use by volunteers who took part in the Boltby Scar Archaeological Dig (2009). The purpose of the notebook was to record feedback from volunteers on their experience of taking part in the project: for example, what did they enjoy most about the dig, what did they learn, how could their experience have been improved?

The notebook was designed to be highly engaging, taking the form of an aged notebook with an informal, ‘scrapbook’ feel in keeping with the context of the archaeological dig. It was commissioned and used by Pathways Consultancy during the consultation phase of the project.

The notebook was well received by participants and helped to generate a wealth of useful feedback.
