Countryscape facilitated the 'Construction Coordination in the Environment’ conference on behalf of Environmental Protection UK, supported by Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council. The purpose of the event was to engage and consult with stakeholders regarding the development of local guidelines to minimise the impact on air quality around construction and demolition sites. The event was held in 2010 the Concorde Suite, Manchester Airport, and was attended by over a hundred delegates from the public, private and voluntary/community sectors.
The conference included a number of workshop sessions, which were facilitated using creative thinking techniques (including Ketso mind-maps) to help translate a broad range of technical and legislative information into formats suitable for all audiences.
The results of the workshop were summarised in a report, which has since been used as the basis for developing local guidance on air quality for use within the construction industry.
