Countryscape worked with the The Lowry theatre and arts centre, Salford, to develop a wide range of interpretation as part of Unlocking Salford Quays: a heritage project that reveals the hidden history of Salford Quays as told by local people.
Supported by The Heritage Lottery Fund, Unlocking Salford Quays brought together local communities with leading artists, performers, writers and historians to create and animate a permanent public sculpture trail around the Quays. The overall aim of the project was to celebrate and bring to life the area’s rich industrial and social history, which has been largely hidden from the thousands of people who live, work or visit around the Quays every day.
Countryscape was responsible for developing the project brand and a wide range of interpretation and publicity materials, including a series of outdoor interpretive displays; a heritage trail map and leaflet; a family activity guide; an interactive website; branded merchandise; press advertisements and other communications.
The sculpture trail was launched in March 2011. For more information visit www.thelowryusq.com
