Bowland Experience Limited is a commercial subsidiary of the The Bowland Tourism Environment Fund (BTEF), itself a social enterprise charity which has been established to encourage tourism businesses, visitors, local communities and interest groups to work together in caring for the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Both the BTEF and Bowland Experience are products of the AONB’s ongoing work to support sustainable tourism in the area.
Countryscape worked with Bowland Experience and the BTEF in developing logos for the organisations, aiming to distinguish them from the AONB and provide simple brand identities that can be used by business members as part of their own publicity. The design of the Bowland Experience logo was undertaken in close consultation with the company directors, themselves owners of local tourism businesses, who requested an identity that reflects the character of the Bowland landscape, with its steep valleys and heather-covered moorland.
