Countryscape ran a series of workshops to inform development of the High Peak Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), making sure the document accounted for the views of stakeholders and local people. The first event was held at the start of the project and set out to discover how stakeholders valued the landscape and what they recognised as the key social, economic and environmental issues across the Borough. This was followed by a second workshop towards the end of the project, which consulted the same stakeholders regarding the content and design of the SPD.
A third event was held after the SPD had been adopted. This was attended by planning and landscape officers from around Derbyshire and neighbouring areas, and was used to disseminate the findings of the approach. The workshop was endorsed by the East Midlands branch of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) as a Continuing Professional Development event.
