Company Policies

Countryscape is a multi-disciplinary company, combining expertise in design and communication, mapping/GIS and landscape consultancy. Our aim is to improve communication and decision-making amongst all stakeholders in sustainable development.

Countryscape is committed to the continuous improvement of its environmental performance and the reduction or prevention of pollution and waste. We comply with relevant environmental laws and codes of practice, which we regard as setting a minimum standard of performance. Our employees are encouraged to have a sound understanding of environmental issues and the impacts that our company activities have on the environment.

Countryscape seeks to address environmental impacts through sustainable resource procurement. This involves the use of recycled products where possible and the conservation of resources through efficiency of use. We work with our suppliers to ensure that products and services are as sustainable as possible with regard to materials and transportation. This policy also extends to technology procurement; for example our company website is hosted with a carbon-neutral Internet Service Provider.

Countryscape aims to minimise waste production through reduction, recycling and reuse of waste and packaging. Waste is disposed of in a safe and responsible manner. Use of chemicals is minimised and cleaning products are all of an optimum level of biodegradability. In addition, we endeavour to ensure that all printed materials produced by us are as close to 100% recyclable and biodegradable as possible, using vegetable oil-based inks and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper, where possible (a service that we promote amongst our clients).

It is company policy for our employees to use public transport whenever possible. Energy consumption is minimised through the use of efficient technology and policies to ensure that electrical equipment, such as computers, are turned off whenever they are not in use.

Countryscape is committed to sustainable development and we are continuously looking for means by which we can improve our environmental performance. If you have any comments or questions about our Environmental Policy, please contact us.
